⚠ The Uncomfortable Truth

Mo's "decision avoidance" observation deserves to sit with you. In property and facility management, significant capital decisions require someone to formally recommend a course of action. That recommendation carries career risk. AI is beginning to play the same role as management consultants — providing external authority and diffusing accountability. If "AI recommended this" gives facilities managers the cover to act on recommendations that are clearly correct, that's a net win. But it also means some of what we're calling "AI adoption" is really just institutional liability management. That distinction matters when you're evaluating which AI investments actually improve outcomes.
